Board Membership: • Serve on board. • Participate on subcommittees
Fund and Revenue Development: • Networking the organization • Internet searches on funders or grants • Grant writing
Marketing & Communications: • Produce newsletters • Develop website • Develop Informational pieces
Mentors/Tutors • Once a week for 1-3 hours • One-on-one with student or small groups • Weekly commitment, preferably all school year • Interact with children to show caring/nurturing approach to learning and to transfer values
Administrative Help for Teachers: • Bulletin Boards • Displays in hallways • Mounting work to be displayed • Copying, cutting, etc. • As much or as little time as one can spare
Library Aides: • Assist Librarian • Read to students • Shelve books • Scan books in and out • Do activities with small groups of children

SVP DE volunteer opportunities
Board of Directors: ·Board meets six times per fiscal year ·Sets policy and procedures for SVP DE ·Reviews organization's financials ·Assists with strategic vision ·Reviews and ratifies funding decisions made by the Investment Committee
Investment Committee: ·Investment Committee meets once a month for 1.5 hours from September through May. May require extra time for site visits and other due diligence activities ·Committee is responsible for due diligence on potential and current investee organizations ·Committee makes funding decisions and formally reports to the Board and partnership for ratification ·Great opportunity to learn about early childhood education in your community
Public Policy and Advocacy Committee: ·Opportunity to make an impact at a more systemic level and explore policy and advocacy realms ·Networking, coalition building and raising awareness of public and elected officials about the significance of quality early care and education
Communications/Marketing Committee: ·Establish brand identity and messaging ·Develop new pamphlets and distribution materials ·Website development ·Public relations and networking ·Media relations
Financial Planning Committee: ·Explore funding resources for SVP DE ·Meet with funders to explain SVP DE and its mission. ·Help prepare grants
Event Planning: ·Plan and organize education, partner recruitment, cultural diversity, and fundraising events. ·Coordinate different aspects of events including: invitation mailings, food and drink catering, tech assistance, contacting and coordinating with speakers, consultants or performing groups, etc.
Partner Recruitment: ·Recruiting new Social Venture Partners ·Tracking potential Partners on SVP DE's Salesforce.com database
Volunteer Coordinator: ·New Partner orientation ·Coordinate and organize volunteer opportunities within Investee organizations and help Partners find volunteer activities that suit their interests and availability. ·Help collect volunteer hour information from partners
